🗺️ Detailed Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Bangkok City Tour & The Treasures of the Capital
⏰ Time (to be defined): Meet your private English-speaking guide at the airport or your hotel in Bangkok. Begin your immersion into the spiritual heart of Thailand with a guided tour of the majestic Grand Palace. This immense fortified complex rises on Rattanakosin Island and looks like a sumptuous “city within a city,” filled with golden pavilions and ceremonial courtyards. Inside, we will visit the highly celebrated Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), the most sacred place of worship in the country, which houses the mystical statue carved from a single block of jade.
🍜 12:00 PM: Relaxing break for lunch (on your own). In the afternoon, the itinerary continues with a guided visit to the legendary Wat Pho, the temple that houses the immense and impressive Reclining Buddha entirely covered in gold leaf, measuring a staggering 46 meters in length. Next, we will cross the river to admire the striking Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), located on the banks of the Chao Phraya and famous for its spectacular spires (Prangs) decorated with colorful Chinese porcelain.
✨ We will conclude the day at Wat Traimit in the vibrant Chinatown district, to marvel at the Golden Buddha statue, a solid gold masterpiece weighing a record-breaking 5.5 tons that remained hidden under plaster for centuries. Afterward, private transfer back to the hotel. 🛌 Overnight in Bangkok.

Day 2: Bangkok – Floating Market – Kanchanaburi
🚗 8:30 AM: Departure from your Bangkok hotel heading west. The first unforgettable experience of the day is a visit to the picturesque Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. We will board traditional long-tail boats to navigate the dense network of rural canals, observing local merchants selling fresh fruit and culinary specialties directly from their boats—a unique festival of colors and scents. Right after, we will move to the nearby and incredible Railway Market (Maeklong), the famous market set right on the train tracks that is dismantled and reassembled in seconds with every spectacular passing of the train.
🚂 12:00 PM: Lunch break near the legendary and evocative Bridge over the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi. After lunch, we will enjoy a wonderful motorboat excursion on the river waters, immersed in a lush natural setting rich in history.
⛰️ The day closes with a spectacular visit to Wat Tham Suea (Tiger Cave Temple). Built on top of a hill in an eclectic Thai-Chinese style, it houses a colossal 18-meter-tall Buddha statue covered in a sparkling golden mosaic and an impressive 69-meter Chedi. Climbing inside the building, you can take extraordinary photographs of the surrounding landscape of verdant rice paddies and limestone mountains. At the end, return to Bangkok. 🛌 Overnight in Bangkok.

Day 3: Bangkok – The Imperial Charm of Ayutthaya – Sukhothai
🏛️ 8:30 AM: We leave Bangkok aboard our comfortable private minivan to head north, about an hour’s drive away, where the glorious Ayutthaya Historical Park stands—the legendary former capital of the Kingdom of Siam, now protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once a splendid, wealthy metropolis and a hub for world trade between East and West, this immense archaeological park includes the fascinating ruins of over 300 historical temples and imperial palaces dating back to the city’s golden age (between 1350 and 1767).
🗺️ As this is an incredibly vast monumental area featuring over 400 sites, our private guide will accompany you to discover only the main and historically most significant temples. This careful selection will allow you to optimize your time, avoid fatigue, and fully enjoy—without any rush—the mysticism and architectural beauty of the site’s must-see masterpieces.
✨ During the guided tour, we will admire the imposing and pure white Wat Phu Khao Thong, the ancient royal sanctuary Wat Phra Sri Sanphet characterized by its three iconic, perfectly aligned bell-shaped stupas, the nearby ceremonial temple Viharn Phra Mongkolbopit (which houses a massive bronze Buddha), the monumental reclining stone Buddha of Wat Lokaya Sutha, and the striking and world-famous Wat Mahathat, renowned globally for the stone Buddha head poetically entwined and protected by the roots of a centuries-old tree. At the end of the guided visits, we will resume our overland journey toward the heart of the country. 🛌 Overnight in Sukhothai.

Day 4: The Dawn of Happiness in Sukhothai – Journey to Chiang Rai
🌅 8:30 AM: A day entirely dedicated to discovering the cradle of Siamese civilization: the wonderful Sukhothai Historical Park, solemnly protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded in the 13th century (around 1238), Sukhothai was the very first major independent Thai kingdom, marking a golden era of extraordinary cultural and political prosperity under the wise King Ramkhamhaeng, who is credited with creating the Thai alphabet and sparking a unique artistic style. Fittingly, the name Sukhothai literally translates to “The Dawn of Happiness”.
🚲 Choose your tour mode: To explore the vast archaeological area enclosed within ancient historic walls, a wonderful bicycle ride is provided (already included in the price) along an enchanting, completely flat and shaded path that winds past ingenious canals and romantic small lakes covered in lotus flowers.
⚡ Comfort Alternative: For those who prefer more relaxation, want protection from the tropical heat, or have any mobility needs, the bicycle exploration can be conveniently replaced with a guided tour aboard a modern electric golf cart, allowing you to glide effortlessly through the park’s monumental complexes.
🏛️ Accompanied by our private guide, we will admire the site’s three absolute masterpieces: the majestic Wat Mahathat, the immense royal temple that formed the spiritual and administrative core of the kingdom; the exotic Wat Si Sawai, an ancient Khmer-style Hindu sanctuary characterized by its three imposing corn-cob-shaped towers (Prangs); and finally, the enigmatic and mystical Wat Si Chum. In this unique temple, a colossal 15-meter-tall sitting stone Buddha partially emerges into the view of pilgrims through a narrow, striking vertical opening in the sanctuary wall, offering an unforgettable photographic perspective. At the end of this memorable cultural immersion, we will board our private minivan to continue our overland journey toward the far north of the country. 🛌 Overnight in Chiang Rai.

Day 5: Chiang Rai – Ethical Elephant Experience – The Golden Triangle
🐘 08:30 AM – Stop 1: Ethical Encounter at Baan Ruammit Village:
We begin the day by heading to the picturesque mountain village of Baan Ruammit, located along the forested banks of the Mae Kok River. Here you will experience an extraordinary, ethical encounter deeply respectful of the animals: an exciting 30-minute close-up encounter and bath with the elephants. In line with our philosophy of responsible tourism, there are no rigid saddles or forced behaviors, but rather a moment of pure, genuine interaction in the water where you can cool off alongside these peaceful giants, brush them, care for them, and capture memorable photos in a pristine natural setting. At the end of the walk, for those who wish, it will be possible to reward the elephants by offering them sugarcane and bunches of bananas.
🏡 Stop 2: Immersion into Hill Tribe Cultures:
Next, we will visit the nearby local tribal communities of the Akha, Yao, and the famous Long Neck Karen women. This settlement represents a unique reality: the Thai government granted these protected ethnic groups a fertile piece of land about 20 km north of Chiang Rai, allowing different cultures to coexist peacefully while keeping their roots intact. In the village, you can observe the proud inhabitants in their traditional, colorful ceremonial costumes. While the men mostly work in the surrounding cultivated fields during the day, the women preserve the art of hand-weaving, creating beautiful scarves and fine silk items using ancient wooden looms. This is an extraordinary opportunity to understand the lifestyle of these mountainous ethnic minorities.
⛵ 12:00 PM – Stop 3: The Legendary Golden Triangle & Navigation on the Mekong River:
Settle down for a rejuvenating lunch featuring local specialties. Right after, we will move to the legendary headland of the Golden Triangle (Sop Ruak), one of the most iconic and evocative geographical locations in all of Asia, the exact spot where the borders of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar merge at the confluence of the Ruak River and the great Mekong. Historically world-famous for being the nerve center of global opium smuggling, this outpost now offers breathtaking views. We will board a private motorboat for a wonderful excursion on the waters of the great Mekong River, cruising right down the center of the liquid border and skirting the shores of the three neighboring states to observe life as it unfolds on the different banks.
🐒 Stop 4: Wat Tham Pla Temple (The Monkey Cave):
On the way back to the city, we will make a stop that absolutely deserves a careful visit: the evocative cave-temple of Wat Tham Pla (known as the Monkey Cave). Located at the foot of towering limestone formations that soar into the sky, this ancient and mystical sanctuary has over the years become a safe and protected haven for the numerous colonies of wild macaques that inhabit the surrounding hills. You will have the chance to see these playful primates descending freely from the trees and rock faces straight into the temple courtyard, moving in total harmony with the monks—a fascinating experience that blends the beauty of wild nature with Buddhist mysticism. At the end of the visit, we will return to the hotel. 🛌 2nd night in Chiang Rai.

Day 6: From the White Temple to the Treasures of Chiang Mai – Art, Nature, and Lanna History
⚪ 8:30 AM – The Enchantment of Chiang Rai: Our morning begins with a visit to the world-famous Wat Rong Khun (White Temple), a surrealist and visionary masterpiece unique in the world, created by the famous Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. The structure appears entirely pure white to symbolize the purity of the Buddha, and it is finely adorned with millions of fragments of glittering mirrors that reflect the sunlight, creating a magical and celestial effect. Next, we will move to the nearby and wonderful Singha Park, a vast agricultural estate where we can ride bicycles along flat paths that wind through immense and geometric green tea plantations, mirrored lakes, and a well-kept nature reserve home to various exotic animal species.
🍜 The Authentic Cuisine of the North: For lunch, we will indulge in a culinary stop celebrating the most genuine local traditions. We will taste the flavorful traditional roasted chicken (Kai Yang) served in combination with the famous and refreshing green papaya salad (*Som Tum*), all enjoyed inside a characteristic bamboo bungalow immersed in a rural and relaxing atmosphere.
🕌 Afternoon and Evening – The Charm of the Lanna Kingdom: In the afternoon, we will set off aboard our comfortable private minivan towards Chiang Mai, the cultural and ecclesiastical capital of northern Thailand. Upon our arrival in the evening, we will immediately immerse ourselves in the spiritual atmosphere of the old city, protected by its ancient boundary walls and defensive moats. We will visit the most important and fascinating historic temple complexes: the superb Wat Phra Singh, the greatest example of classical Lanna architecture which houses the revered Buddha statue Phra Buddha Sihing, and the majestic Wat Chedi Luang, famous for its immense and imposing brick stupa partially destroyed by an earthquake in the 16th century, which retains a unique monumental charm known worldwide. At the end of the visits, check-in to your rooms. 🛌 Overnight stay in Chiang Mai.

Day 7: The Roof of Thailand (Doi Inthanon) – Silver Temple
⛰️ 08:30 AM – Meeting with the guide directly at your hotel in Chiang Mai.
Shortly after, departure for the majestic Doi Inthanon National Park, the highest peak in all of Thailand, soaring at 2,565 meters above sea level.
This vast national park, extending over 1,000 km², is a lush and pristine natural oasis, rich in hiking trails, endemic flora, and wildlife.
🏯 During the ascent, we will visit the spectacular twin Royal Stupas – Phra Maha Dhatu Naphamethinidon and Phra Maha Dhatu Naphaphonphumisiri – built on the mountaintop in honor of the King and Queen.
We will be surrounded by perfectly manicured flower gardens and can sample some local organic fruit specialties sold directly by the hill tribes of the Hmong ethnicity.
🌊 Lunch at the foot of the Wachirathan Waterfall, the highest and most impressive in the national park, with a thundering drop of 80 meters.
In the parking lot right below the waterfall, you will find several local restaurants serving excellent grilled chicken and fish.
The waterfall is visible from two sides: the upper one, reachable via a trek of about 20 minutes, and the lower one, where you can refresh yourself in the natural pools beneath the water spray.
✨ In the early afternoon, we will return to the city to admire the last artistic wonder of the trip:
the Wat Sri Suphan (the Silver Temple). This incredible place of prayer is entirely forged and coated in silver embossed by neighborhood craftsmen.
Even the floor is a true work of art: made of huge carved slabs that reproduce the astral constellations.
🛌 Overnight stay in Chiang Mai (night included at the end of services).
